evidence

— Facts (actual or asserted) intended for use in support of a conclusion

Synonyms:

empirical data, empirical evidence

Full explanation:

A fact is something known by experience or observation. Facts are used as evidence to support a conclusion; evidence is not the same as the conclusion. Not all evidence is research evidence. For example, personal experience or ad hoc observations might be considered as evidence.
