Dramatic treatment effects are so obvious that carefully controlled research is unnecessary, and would usually be regarded as unethical. People may have different definitions of "dramatic" effects.

Example:

Examples of dramatic effects include insulin for diabetes, defibrillation for heart attacks, and drainage of an abscess.
